Thank you for your interest in PokemonKing.com’s Regional tournament.
This tournament will consist of 64 teams, and each team will be required to use a team that is composed of Pokemon from the OU tier or below on Smogon.com. All Pokemon from the Uber tier list are banned. For an explanation of the OU tier and banned Pokemon, go here.
To Enter:
1. Create an account with our forum.
To enter the OU tournament, go to: pokemonking.freeforums.net/, and create an account. This forum is where all battles will be set up, and where everyone will coordinate everything related to anything. Be active and attentive to this forum! It makes life easier for everyone.
2. Respond to this thread with the following information:
All teams must follow the following guidelines.
1. Ban list: All Pokemon in the ‘Uber’ category as classified by smogon.com are ineligible for use. You can find the ban list here:

Battle Rules
Battles are played using the honors system. All battles must be completed by the indicated date, and all results must be reported by the two competitors in the appropriate sub-forum.
Battle specifics:
1. All battles must be single-battles, set to level 50.
2. All battles must be completed using the same team that was specified prior to the tournament in the ‘Team Entry’ section of the pokemonking.freeforums.net forum.
3. Self-KO clause – if you use explosion, self-destruct, or other self-KO move and your opponent dies on the same turn, the round will go to your opponent
4. Megastone clause – you may only use 1 mega Pokémon on your team.
5. Species clause – you must use 6 unique Pokemon. Pokemon in the same evolution line are allowed, such as Blastoise and Wartortle, but no player may have 2 of any 1 Pokemon on his/her team.
6. Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any Pokémon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play. Thus:
8. Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are not permitted in play.
9. Moody Clause: Pokémon with the ability Moody are not permitted.
10. OHKO Clause: A Pokémon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
11. Sleep Clause: Only one Pokémon may be put to sleep on the opposing team at a time, if not induced by a move such as Rest.
12. Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
13. Pokémon may be up to level 100.
14. All battles in which both competitors claim that he/she was the winner will be dealt with on an individual basis with jurisdiction coming exclusively from PokemonKing.com. Play fair and be honest.
15. All players using a banned pokemon will be disqualified. All players using a different team than was listed in the ‘Team Entry’ section of the forum will be disqualified.
16. All battles not completed by the specified date will be decided by:
a. A coin flip. If neither competitor notifies PokemonKing.com that the other opponent is not responding, then the match will be decided by a coin flip.
b. Forced withdrawal. If one competitor cannot contact his/her competition for the round, then the opponent that cannot be reached will be disqualified and the round will be awarded to the active participant.
17. All battles are single battles.
18. All battles are to be completed as 'set to level 50'.
Prizes
Door Prize (For everyone): Every participant in the tournament receives $5.00 store credit to PokemonKing.com. This will be in the form of a coupon code. The only stipulation is a minimum $10.00 purchase!
Champion: The player who wins the entire tournament receives 1 copy of either Pokemon X: Fully Loaded or Pokemon Y: Fully Loaded.
